Ailsa Craig "Paddy's milestone" was a haven for Catholics during the Scottish Reformation in the 16th century. It is now a bird sanctuary. See gannets, guillimots and an increasing number of puffins.

2. The Whisky Trail

From Largs or from Oban you can plan your sailing to make some rather fine Distillery visits. In the Clyde there are Distilleries on Arran and at Campbeltown. There are  Distilleries for you to visit in Islay.

Lagavulin, Ardbeg & Laphroag have their own moorings close to Port Ellen.

On Skye you can visit the Talisker Distillery.

You are spoiled for choice.
